Sustainable Endeavour

ABOUT BILLINCE AUSTRALIA

It all started when our founder visited a leather manufacturing facility and was shocked by the amount of premium leather being sent to landfill. Rather than walk away, she gathered up the leather, determined it had more value than being thrown away, and began experimenting with new ways to repurpose its rich colours, textures, and variety. And that's how Billince was born.

Our products are handcrafted in rural Australia, where we transform what would otherwise be waste into unique, eco-friendly accessories. Our collections are always evolving, depending on the materials we can source, so be sure to check back often. And if you have any ideas or products you'd love to see us make, don't hesitate to reach out!

We truly appreciate your support—because every purchase you make is a step toward a more sustainable future. Actions always speak louder than words, and together, we're making a real difference.

Material sourcing

Billince sources offcut or "waste" materials from leather, upholstery and clothing manufacturing facilities within 50km of our production site. Every single piece of material is assessed as to its quality and regarding "best fit" end product that maximizes the use of the piece to reduce our own "waste".

Production

All Billince products are made by hand in our manufacturing facility in Samford, Australia. Our facility uses solar energy for electrical equipment and rain water is collected and used on site when required.

Billince "waste"

Nothing goes to landfill. There is enough there already. All off-cuts or "waste" developed in the manufacturing process is repurposed in smaller items or filling for larger items. Material that cannot be repurposed, such as thread, is either composted or broken down into usable matter.

Packaging

We strive to deliver the best products and services to our customers, in the most eco-friendly manner. All of our packaging materials are either compostable, recycled or pre-loved, in an effort to reduce our environmental impact.
